  • Those Infinite, Multiform Stories without Fixity

    Open Access•Gregor Pobežin, Gergor Pobežin•ARTICLE•Studia mythologica Slavica•2024•References: 17

This paper deals with the problematic relationship between ancient historiography and mythology, or mythological stories as historical sources for historical research. Although Greek historiography had, in a sense, already been confronted with the problem of mythological intrusions into the substance of methodologically well-developed historical procedures (as early as the 5th century BC), Roman historiography continued for a long time to critica…

Despite his brief reign, Julian undertook significant reforms targeting various aspects of public life, including the administration and provincial governance. This paper focuses on his administrative activities in Illyricum, where he resided in 361 AD while campaigning against Constantiu…

  • Myth in 300 Strokes Mit v 300 taktih

    Open Access•Gregor Pobežin, Igor Grdina•ARTICLE•Studia mythologica Slavica•2019

This paper aims to explore the phenomenon of the opera minute which emerged from the avant-garde experimentalism after WWI; its beginner and one of the foremost masters, the French composer Darius Milhaud put three short, eight-minute operas on stage in 1927. Others soon followed, among them the Slovenian composer Slavko Osterc who composed the opera-minute “Medea” in 1932. This paper is the first to transcribe in length the manuscript of Osterc’…
