    Michel Le Breton, Dominique Lepelley•ARTICLE•Revue économique•2014•Cited by: 2•References: 2

Michel Le Breton, Karine Van Der Straeten•ARTICLE•Revue économique•2013•Cited by: 1•References: 14

  • Voting power in the EU council of ministers and fair decision making in distributive politics

  • Sequential Legislative Lobbying under Political Certainty

    Open Access•Michel Le Breton, Vera Zaporozhets•ARTICLE•The Economic Journal•2010•Cited by: 3•References: 33

In this article, we analyse the equilibrium of a sequential game-theoretical model of lobbying, based on Groseclose and Snyder (1996) , describing a legislature that votes on two alternatives and two opposing lobbies, lobby 0 and lobby 1, that compete by bidding for legislators' votes. In this model there is a strong second-mover advantage, so the lobbyist moving first will make offers to legislators only if he deters any credible counter-reactio…

  • The Mixed Strategy Nash Equilibrium of the Televison News Scheduling Game

Open Access•JEAN J GABSZEWICZ, Didier Laussel et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Industrial Economics•2008

  • Third-degree stochastic dominance and inequality measurement

    Open Access•Didier Laussel, Michel Le Breton•ARTICLE•Economics Letters•2002

  • Strategic Candidacy and Voting Procedures

Open Access•Bhaskar Dutta, Matthew O Jackson et al.•ARTICLE•Econometrica•2001

We study the incentives of candidates to strategically affect the outcome of a voting procedure. We show that the outcomes of every nondictatorial voting procedure that satisfies unanimity will be affected by the incentives of noncontending candidates (i.e., who cannot win the election) to influence the outcome by entering or exiting the election

  • Separable Preferences, Strategyproofness, and Decomposability

Open Access•Michel Le Breton, Arunava Sen•ARTICLE•Econometrica•1999

We consider strategyproof social choice functions defined over product domains. If preferences are strict orderings and separable, then strategyproof social choice functions must be decomposable provided that the domain of preferences is rich. We provide several characterization results in the case where preferences are separable only with respect to the elements of some partition of the set of components and these partitions vary across individu…
