  • Female enfranchisement and the conservative voting gap

Open Access•Mathias Bühler, Navid Sabet•ARTICLE•European Journal of Political…•2026

Newly enfranchised German women in the 1920s consistently voted against the party that had secured their political rights. Despite being poorer and mobilized largely through the Social Democratic Party, women’s vote share for confessional center parties was 10 percentage points higher than men’s. • Educational Social Enterprise and the Wicked Problem of Creativity and Literacy

    Open Access•Navid Sabet•ARTICLE•Education and Urban Society•2024•References: 59

This article examines the potential contribution of social enterprise to the “wicked” problem of creativity and literacy in a performative schooling environment, drawing on an ethnographic study of Ciento, a social enterprise organization that works with under-resourced young people, families, and communities in Melbourne, Australia. In light of the growing body of research on the ways in which schools navigate creativity and performativity, this…

  • Turning out for redistribution

    Open Access•Navid Sabet•ARTICLE•Public Choice•2023•Cited by: 2•References: 19

I investigate the impact of voter turnout on top marginal tax rates in OECD countries between 1974 and 2013. Using novel survey data, I confirm that individuals in all but the wealthiest income bracket prefer higher taxes on the rich more than they prefer greater government spending in the economy. In line with these prefer…
