    WHILE searching through the subject catalogue in the Dar al-Kutub library in Cairo', I came across a brief (48 pp.) lithographed text entitled The Marvellous Qualities of the Four (Spiritua[) Poles (Mandqib2 al-Aqtdb al-Arba'a). The text purports to have been dictated by the Egyptian $5f-i Ahmad al-Sarnfibi (15241585) to his disciple Muhammad al-Bulqln1.
