From Complaints to Cleaner Production: How Public Environmental Complaints Stimulate Corporate Green Innovation
Public environmental complaints are increasingly used as a mechanism of social monitoring in environmental governance, yet their role in shaping firms' strategic behaviors and responses, particularly green innovation, remains insufficiently understood. Existing studies largely focus on macro‐level governance outcomes or assume uniform regulatory enforcement, leaving limited insight into why and how public complaints influence private firms' green…
Spatiotemporal Modeling of Social Capital and Infrastructure Mobility Resilience during Hurricane Harvey
Natural disasters disrupt human mobility, yet existing models often overlook the role of social capital in shaping evacuation, adaptation, and recovery. To address this gap, we develop an interpretable spatiotemporal model that integrates the Social Capital Index (SoCI), precipitation, and spatial interactions at the census tract level during Hurricane Harvey. Unlike hazard-only models, our framework explicitly quantifies how community cohesion i…

Exploring religious content instruction in China: A case study of junior high school geography education
China, officially an atheist country, offers a distinctive context for integrating religious content into formal education. This study explores how religious knowledge is incorporated into a junior high school geography curriculum in China. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach – combining textbook content analysis, semi-structured interviews, classroom observation, and questionnaire surveys – the research examines the significance, challenges, and …

Exploration of Resilient Design Paradigm of Urban Green Infrastructure
Urban green infrastructure is a fundamental physical structure that supports the construction of resilient cities based on nature. Currently, the conventional design paradigm oriented by deterministic control is not conducive to promoting urban resilience, and the design paradigm of green infrastructure is in urgent need of transformation. Based on literature review, this article discusses the establishment of resilient design paradigm: first, it…
Choosing a Production Joint Venture Partner
We study how a firm inside or outside an industry selects a partner among asymmetric firms to form a production joint venture (PJV), in which technology transfer takes place. We show that the partner selected under a two-part tariff contractis always (weakly) more efficient than the one selected under a first-price auction. Comparing these two schemes, we find that a two-part tariff contract can be superior for the most efficient incumbent firm o…
