  • Intellektuell eiendomsrett og global fordeling – TRIPS, fotball og farmasøytisk industri

    Open Access•Per Botolf Maurseth, Jens Chr Andvig•ARTICLE•Internasjonal politikk•2023•References: 3

Abstract in English:Intell…

  • Bedrifter, internasjonal handel og internett

    Open Access•Per Botolf Maurseth, Hege Medin•ARTICLE•Internasjonal politikk•2023

  • Divergence and dispersion in the Russian economy

    Per Botolf Maurseth•ARTICLE•Europe Asia Studies•2003•Cited by: 3

While post-war economic development In market economies was characterised by geographical concentration of economic activity, this was not the case in the Soviet Union. Soviet economic development resulted in a highly dispersed economic landscape with mono-industrial towns scattered around the country. One plausible reason for this was low perceived transport costs as seen by Soviet planners. Another reason was that political and not only economi…

  • Economic Convergence through Savings, Trade and Technology Flows

    Per Botolf Maurseth•ARTICLE•Forum for Development Studies•2003•References: 11

This article reviews the theoretical and empirical literature on income disparity and convergence between countries. New theoretical models modify and often reverse the prediction of convergence in the traditional neo-classical model of economic growth. A particular feature of the recent literature as compared to traditional studies of economic growth is that it acknowledges interdependence between countries. International capital flows, trade in…

  • Knowledge Spillovers in Europe

Open Access•Per Botolf Maurseth, Bart Verspagen•ARTICLE•Scandinavian Journal of Economics•2002

This paper addresses the pattern of knowledge flows as indicated by patent citations between European regions. Our findings support the hypothesis that there are important barriers to knowledge flows in Europe. Patent citations occur more often between regions which belong to the same country and which are in geographical proximity. Furthermore, patent citations are industry specific and occur most often between regions that are specialised in in…
