Egy történelmi töredék az asszír kori Izraelből? Amherst 63 papirusz XVII 1–6
Az Amherst 63 papirusz egy rövid szakasza (XVII 1–6) egy szemtanú beszámolója arról, hogy samáriai katonák érkeztek egy erődbe. A Pentateuchus-kutatás új iránya
New Directions in the Research of the PentateuchThe last decade of Samaritan research resulted in two major changes of the previous scholarly consensus: 1) The archaeological excavations on Mount Gerizim reveald the remnants of a Persian-period Samarian temple.2) Some very early manuscripts of the LXX and of the Old Latin Version, discovered recently, confirmed the originality of the Samaritan readings of the Pentateuch in contrast to the Massore…
Studies on Jewish and Christian Historical Summaries from the Hellenistic and Early Roman Periods, by Atar Livneh
Various Aspects of Worship in Deuterocanonical and Cognate Literature
The volume contains papers read at the International Conference of the ISDCL, held in Budapest in 2015. The contributors explore various aspects of worship as reflected in the literature of Judaism from the Second Temple period to Late Antiquity. The volume provides a fresh reading of various crucial issues especially within Old Testament Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha, Rabbinic literature, Gnostic traditions, and the emerging synagogue. The papers…
The Samaritan diaspora in Antiquity
This paper discusses the problems and state of the Samaritan diaspora situation in Antiquity. It was difficult for contemporaries to distinguish between Jews and Samaritans therefore it is more difficult to decide today whether a diaspora was Jewish or Samaritan. Even so, there are regions of the Eastern Mediterraneum where a Samaritan diaspora can be defined, though no history of any of them can be sketched
The Origin of the Samaritans
Canonization and Decanonization
This volume contains the papers read at the Leiden Conference on Canonization and Decanonization of 9-10 January 1997. The emphasis in this rich and wide-ranging contribution to the subject is on the processes of canonization and decanonization in several religions and on the phenomenon of religious canons as well. It has two sections: (De)canonization and the History of Religions, and (De)canonization and Modern Society. In the first section pro…
