Robust intuition? Exploring the difference in the strength of intuitions from perspective of attentional bias
The logical intuition hypothesis proposes a difference in the strength between logical and heuristic intuitions. The labels of logical and heuristic intuitions are exclusive to conventional reasoning research. This paper reports the result of testing intuition strength using the dot-probe methodology in a novel multiplication paradigm. Here, “logical intuition” and “heuristic intuition” were relabeled as “weaker intuition” (-1 × 5 = 5) and “stron…

Chain mediating role of negative affect and ego depletion between quarantine time and academic procrastination among university students during the Covid‐19 pandemic
Although quarantine is an effective measure for containing the spread of COVID‐19 and reducing the number of infected individuals, it has had negative consequences on the emotional well‐being and academic performance of university students. To explore the influence mechanism of school quarantine time on academic procrastination among students, a survey research methodology was employed to assess quarantine time, negative affect, ego depletion, an…

Effectiveness of Digital Cognitive Behavior Therapy for the Treatment of Insomnia: Spillover Effects of dCBT
The effects of digital Cognitive Behavior Therapy for insomnia (dCBT-i) on sleep quality have been previously demonstrated but the spillover effects on fatigue, flow (a state of immersion in activities of interest), and cognitive flexibility remain unclear. The current study examined the effectiveness of dCBT-i. A total of 97 college students (20.96 ± 1.87 years, 73.1% female students) were randomly selected from a shortlist and divided into slee…
Effects of childhood maltreatment on prosocial behaviors among Chinese emerging adults: A mediated moderation model of psychological suzhi and gratitude
It was argued that thinking is characterized by the action of two distinctive cognitive systems, namely, intuitive (Type 1) processing and analytic (Type 2) processing. Intuitive processing is generally described as rapid, automatic, unconscious, and effortless, whereas analytic processing appears to be slow, controlled, conscious, and effortful. Decades of research have established that human judgment is often predisposed to rapid, intuitive pro…
The effects of moral punishment and relationship punishment on junior middle school students' cooperation behaviors in public goods dilemma
The situational primacy of Chinese individual self, relational self, collective self: Evidence from ERP
Effects of negative metastereotype on intergroup relations among rural-to-urban migrant children in China
We examined how group identification and intergroup anxiety jointly mediate the relationship between negative metastereotype and intergroup relations among rural-to-urban migrant children in China. Migrant children, who have both rural and urban identities, are sensitive to their uncertain status, which means that a negative metastereotype is easily activated. We recruited 105 migrant children who were randomly assigned to two groups. They receiv…

Competition and Emotion Impact on Effect of Prototype Elicitation during Insight Problem Solving: Competition and Emotion Impact on Effect of Prototype Elicitation during Insight Problem Solving
Positive Outcome Evaluation Is Modulated by Closeness of Outcome: An ERP Research
Closeness of outcome refers to the degree of distance between real behavioral outcomes and desired outcomes. Previous studies revealed that closeness of outcome was one of the main factors that induce counterfactual thinking about the outcome, and played an important role in inducing post-decisional emotions (e.g., regret, rejoicing). Although some recent researches have explored how closeness of outcome affects negative outcome evaluation (e.g.,…
