  • Going global through regional digitalization

    Da Wang, Z L Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Critical Perspectives on…•2026

Purpose This study aims to investigate whether and how corporate digitalization promotes multinational enterprises’ (MNEs’) outward foreign direct investment (OFDI), particularly in developing countries along the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). It further seeks to uncover the internal and external boundary conditions under which digitalization translates into greater international investment activity by integrating firm-level strategy and host-co…

  • Serial dependence for same-category and cross-category stimuli in social attention

Wang Da, Da Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2026

  • Does intelligent development attract foreign direct investment? Empirical evidence from prefecture-level cities in China

    Open Access•Tingting Yao, Da Wang•ARTICLE•Sustainable Futures•2026•References: 3

The digital economy's expansion is leading multinational enterprises to reshape their global investment strategies, with regional intelligent development becoming a decisive factor in foreign direct investment (FDI) flows. Analyzing panel data from 290 Chinese cities between 2012 and 2022, through a two-way fixed effects model, this study establishes that intelligent development significantly attracts FDI—a finding robust to endogeneity and speci…

  • The Lost Chance in China and the Rise of Cold War Populism

  • Delineating Source and Sink Zones of Trip Journeys in the Road Network Space

Open Access•Yan Shi, Bingrong Chen et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2024

Source–sink zones refer to aggregated adjacent origins/destinations with homogeneous trip flow characteristics. Current relevant studies mostly detect source–sink zones based on outflow/inflow volumes without considering trip routes. Nevertheless, trip routes detail individuals’ journeys on road networks and give rise to relationships among human activities, road network structures, and land-use types. Therefore, this study developed a novel appr…

  • Impact of perceived influence on confirmation bias in social media messages

Da Wang, Yuxiang Hong•ARTICLE•Asian Journal of Communication•2023

Social media provides individuals with tremendous opportunities to follow nearly unlimited influencers online, prompting scholars’ concern about confirmation bias and the need to address it. Based on data from 894 participants, this study explores the positive effect of perceived influence on confirmation bias in social media contexts and the negative moderating effect of civic online reasoning on this relationship. These findings indicate that e…

  • Effective Conditions for Achieving Carbon Unlocking Targets for Transport Infrastructure Development—Joint Analysis Based on PLS-SEM and NCA

Open Access•Yun Chen, Yunmin Chen et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2023

It is important to investigate how to achieve carbon unlocking in the transport sector, especially in transport infrastructure, in order to contribute to the achievement of carbon neutrality targets and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. This study aims to investigate the necessary and sufficient conditions to achieve carbon unlocking in transport infrastructure. To achieve this, a combination of partial least squares structural equation mod…

  • Chronic Arsenic Poisoning Probably Caused by Arsenic-Based Pesticides

Open Access•Yongfang Li, Feng Ye et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2016

In addition to naturally occurring arsenic, man-made arsenic-based compounds are other sources of arsenic exposure. In 2013, our group identified 12 suspected arsenicosis patients in a household (32 living members). Of them, eight members were diagnosed with skin cancer. Interestingly, all of these patients had lived in the household prior to 1989. An investigation revealed that approximately 2 tons of arsenic-based pesticides had been previously…

  • A Potential Synergy between Incomplete Arsenic Methylation Capacity and Demographic Characteristics on the Risk of Hypertension

Open Access•Yongfang Li, Da Wang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2015

Inefficient arsenic methylation capacity has been associated with various health hazards induced by arsenic. In this study, we aimed to explore the interaction effect of lower arsenic methylation capacity with demographic characteristics on hypertension risk. A total of 512 adult participants (126 hypertension subjects and 386 non-hypertension subjects) residing in an arsenic-endemic area in Inner Mongolia, China were included. Urinary levels of …

  • Differences of Urinary Arsenic Metabolites and Methylation Capacity between Individuals with and without Skin Lesions in Inner Mongolia, Northern China

Open Access•Qiang Zhang, Yongfang Li et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2014

Incomplete arsenic (As) methylation has been considered a risk factor of As-related diseases. This study aimed to examine the difference of urinary As metabolites and the methylation capacity between subjects with and without skin lesions. Urinary inorganic arsenic (iAs), monomethylarsonic acid (MMA), and dimethylarsinic acid (DMA) were analyzed. The percentage of each As species (iAs%, MMA%, and DMA%), the primary methylation index (PMI) and sec…

  • Home Renovation, Family History of Atopy, and Respiratory Symptoms and Asthma Among Children Living in China

    Guang-Hui Dong, Guang‐Hui Dong et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Public Health•2014•References: 38

Objectives. To investigate the association of indoor air pollution with the respiratory health of children, we evaluated the associations of children’s respiratory symptoms with asthma and recent home renovation. Methods. We conducted a cross-sectional survey in a school recruitment sample of 31 049 children aged 2 to 14 years in 25 districts of 7 cities of northeast China in 2008–2009. The children’s parents completed standardized questionnaires…
