Parents in small groups were trained in childrearing using behavioral, reflective, and discussion type formats. A measure of self-disclosure was applied to random excerpts for each group. Groups were found to differ in the amounts of self-disclosure and in the patterns of self-disclosure across time. The significance of these differences is discussed as they relate to behavioral change.
