Transfer of the EFE-5 Executive Function Intervention Program to the Reduction of Behavioral Problems
After discussing the results, it is concluded that intervention in executive functions induces, by way of distant transfer, a decrease in behavioral problems in preschool; the role of contextualized activities in real situations is emphasized; and several implications for practice and research are discussed
Nature vs nurture
Much of formal higher education research on learning experiences has focused on processing strategies and outcomes, however, less attention has been paid to their precursors. This study employed Biggs’ 3P model to examine the contributions of learning conceptions (as part of learning patterns (LPs) research; construction of knowledge, intake of knowledge) and perceptions of learning environment (appropriate workload, good teaching) as Presage fac…
Aligning personal and collective interests in emerging adults during the Covid‐19 emergency in Italy
This study investigated the relations of emerging adults' personal (civic competence and interdependent self‐construal) and community‐based (sense of community and civic engagement) resources as predictors of appraisal of COVID‐19 Public Health Emergency Management (PHEM) and attitudes toward preventing contagion in Italy. Participants were 2873 Italian emerging adults (71% females) aged 19–30 years ( M = 22.67, SD = 2.82). Structural equation mo…
An integrated test of multidimensionality, convergent, discriminant and criterion validity of the course experience questionnaire
Most research on the course experience questionnaire (CEQ) has been conducted through conventional exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) within the independent cluster model framework (ICM-CFA). However, very few studies have focused on examining its multidimensionality using more flexible psychometric frameworks such as exploratory structural equation modelling (ESEM). This study aims to conduct an integrated t…
Reducing Aggression by Developing Emotional and Inhibitory Control
The objective of this study is to measure the effectiveness of a program on improving inhibitory and emotional control among children. In addition, it is assessed whether the improvement of these skills has an effect on the reduction of aggressive behavior in pre-school children. The participants were 100 children, 50 belonging to the control group and 50 to the experimental group, aged between 5 and 6 years. Pre-intervention and post-interventio…
Can We Manage Behavioral Problems through the Development of Children’s Social-Emotional Regulated Behavior? Longitudinal Study of a Preschool Program
Behavioral problems are early indicators of antisocial behavior and should be targeted from a preventive perspective from early childhood. The purpose of the study was to analyze the effectiveness of the AC1 preschool program that develops social-emotional skills that facilitate the adjustment and regulation of the person. A total of 102 children aged 3-4 years old participated in the research, 52 belonging to the experimental group and 49 to the…
The longitudinal effect of the Aprender a Convivir (learning to live together) programme in childhood
In the context of a changing society, strategies are required to eradicate the phenomenon of antisocial behaviour. The Aprender a Convivir universal prevention programme tries to provide such a response. This study attempts to test the effectiveness of the programme through a quasi-experimental long-term study carried out over three years in some nursery schools. Of the students who participated in this study (N = 784), those from the experimenta…
