Relatedness, autonomy, and competence in the caring relationship: The perspective of nursing home residents
Early School Outcomes for Children of Postpartum Depressed Mothers: Comparison with a Community Sample
Previous studies of the long-term effects of maternal postpartum depression (PPD) on child development have mostly focused on a limited set of outcomes, and have often not controlled for risk factors associated with maternal depression. The present study compared children of postpartum depressed mothers (n = 29) with children from a community sample (n = 113) in terms of a broad range of developmental outcomes in the early school period. Controll…
Cortisol levels of caregivers in child care centers as related to the quality of their caregiving
General mood of professional caregivers in child care centers and the quality of caregiver–child interactions
Profiles of competence and adaptation in preschoolers as related to the quality of parent–child interaction
Multiple determinants of caregiver behavior in child care centers
A model-based intervention for depressed mothers and their infants

In this study, an early intervention program is presented that aims to improve the interaction between depressed mothers and their infants to prevent developmental problems in the children. The program has recently been introduced in the Dutch Communi…
Assessing Attachment Security With the Attachment Q Sort: Meta-Analytic Evidence for the Validity of the Observer AQS
The reliability and validity of the Attachment Q Sort (AQS; Waters & Deane, 1985) was tested in a series of meta-analyses on 139 studies with 13,835 children. The observer AQS security score showed convergent validity with Strange Situation procedure (SSP) security (r=.31) and excellent predictive validity with sensitivity measures (r=.39). Its association with temperament was weaker (r=.16), which supports the discriminant validity of the observ…
