  • Socio-emotional development and parenting behaviors among infants and toddlers aged 3–26 months in rural Western China

Open Access•Sizhe Gao, Kuikui Huang et al.•ARTICLE•Critical Public Health•2026

Background: Parenting behaviors are crucial for early childhood development, yet little is known about the socio-emotional development of infants and toddlers in rural western China. This study examined socio-emotional development and its associations with parenting behaviors among 522 infants and toddlers aged 3–26 months from 12 towns in rural Gansu. Methods The Ages and Stages Questionnaires: Socio-Emotional, Second Edition (ASQ:SE-2) and Paren…

  • Factors associated with child stunting, underweight, and wasting in eight Latin American and Caribbean countries and regions

Open Access•Xi Zhang, Xiaoping Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Global Health•2026

Background: Although child undernutrition in Latin America and the Caribbean is lower than the global average, the region still faces substantial challenges in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 2.2. We aimed to identify factors associated with child undernutrition to inform efforts in this region to improve child nutrition and reduce health inequities. Methods: We analysed 34,862 children aged 0-59 months using Multiple Indicator Cluster Sur…

  • Improving short-term memory capacity for movements through an imitation-targeted training approach in children and adolescents

    Open Access•Tingting Xie, Lijuan Wang•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2026

  • Mapping carbon emissions and exploring its spatiotemporal dynamic based on local climate zones and landscape ecology theory across Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei

  • The alteration of IL-17 signaling pathway in bipolar disorder

Open Access•Xiaobo Wang, Yu Su et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2025

This study integrates transcriptomics and immune microenvironment analysis, suggesting that the IL-17 signaling pathway may be involved in the pathogenesis of BD and its subtypes through inflammation triggered by chemokines. This research deepens our understanding of the molecular mechanisms of BD and emphasizes the importance of the immune system in its pathology

  • An evaluation of a five-year program for newborn congenital heart disease screening in Jiangsu Province, 2019–2023

Open Access•Xiaofei Song, Xueyao Song et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

The current study provides encouraging evidence that the screening program has effectively advanced the diagnosis of CHD in children and reduced infant mortality, thereby supporting health rights and benefiting children with CHD throughout the province. Furthermore, our analysis demonstrates that the newborn CHD screening program has been effectively implemented across Jiangsu province's healthcare systems

  • Behavior change techniques to increase physical activity among older adults living in long-term care facilities

Open Access•Ying Shi, Tingting Xie et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Health Psychology•2025

Despite the health benefits of physical activity, many older adults living in long-term care facilities lead sedentary lifestyles and do not meet minimum physical activity recommendations. Determining the behavior change techniques (BCTs) used in physical activity interventions can help us understand the underlying mechanisms by which behavioral change is achieved. The purpose of this systematic review was to identify and evaluate BCTs in physica…

Open Access•Tingting Xie, Haoyuan Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2024

  • Effects of temporal order and relative location on distractor interference in visual working memory

    Open Access•Tingting Xie, Yiping Wei•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2023

  • Changes in vegetation greenness and its response to precipitation seasonality in Central Asia from 1982 to 2022

Open Access•Yanan Su, Shengqian Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2023

Central Asia is the world’s largest azonal arid region, with strong seasonal precipitation patterns. Vegetation in this region is relatively sparse and extremely sensitive to climatic changes. However, long-term trends in vegetation in Central Asia are still unclear or even controversially recognized, hindering the assessment of climate change’s impact on regional sustainability. Here, we present the longest time series of vegetation index in Cen…

  • Analysis of complete blood count and derived inflammatory indicators for bipolar disorder patients with different states

Open Access•Fangming Xu, Xiaobo Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Psychiatry•2023

Our findings showed that distinct inflammatory indicators were closely associated with BD and its different states. Additionally, we also identified their cut-off values and optimal combined predictive indicators in different states of BD, helping us improve diagnostic accuracy and better assess them to manage early targeted interventions

Open Access•Tenglong Yan, Fang Ji et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2022

Objective Occupational stress is a critical global public health problem. We aimed to evaluate the prevalence of occupational stress among the workers in the electricity, heat, gas, water production and supply (EHGWPS), manufacturing, and transportation industries in Beijing, China. We explored the demographic differences in occupational stress status among workers in industrial enterprises. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted on 13,867…

  • In which case is working memory for movements affected by verbal interference? Evidence from the verbal description of movement

Tingting Xie, Lijuan Wang et al.•ARTICLE•Memory•2021

Current perspectives on whether verbal interference affects working memory for movements have not yet reached a consensus. This study explored the causes of this controversy to reveal the relation between working memory for movements and the phonological loop. Experiment 1 explored whether the verbal description of movement moderated the effect of verbal interference (articulatory suppression) on working memory for movements. Verbal interference …

  • How Do Ambivalent Consumers Interpret Diversified Word-of-Mouth Information

Min-Xue HUANG, Tingting Xie et al.•ARTICLE•Acta Psychologica Sinica•2011
