The South Korean financial crisis: Competing Explanations and Policy Lessons for Financial Liberalization
There are two types of explanations of the Asian financial crisis: the ‘fundamentalist’, which focuses on macroeconomic imbalances; and the ‘self-fulfilling’, which ascribes the crisis to beliefs.
