The impact of bureaucratic quality on tax revenue collection in democratic settings
This study investigated the effect of bureaucratic quality on tax revenue mobilization in Africa while also examining the moderating effect of democracy and corruption in this relationship. Employing the fixed effects technique and panel data for 25 African countries from 1996 to 2021, we found a significant positive association between bureaucratic quality and tax revenue. Dual-Channel Graph Contrastive Learning With Tensor Hadamard Fusion for Cyber-Physical-Social Recommendations
Recommendation systems play a pivotal role in enhancing the intelligence of cyber-physical-social systems (CPSS) by bridging users and information, mining personalized characteristics, and enabling intelligent decision-making. However, existing graph contrastive learning methods often encounter inefficiencies and over-smoothing issues when handling large-scale graph data, and stochastic augmentation techniques can distort intrinsic semantic struc…

Tributary' from a Multilateral and Multilayered Perspective
Equilibrium Analysis of the Tributary System' enriches the increasingly salient debate among Chinese International Relations (IR) students on the so-called 'tributary system' 1 in three ways. First, it correctly points out that China did not unilaterally create the mode of interstate connections in pre-modern East Asia. Rather, the 'system', if there was indeed such a thing, was an institutional mechanism mutually constructed by both the central …
