    Open Access•Rachael S Burke, Judith Duncan•ARTICLE•Global Studies of Childhood•2016•Cited by: 1•References: 11

Children’s bodies occupy a culturally contested space in the early childhood arena. In New Zealand, children’s bodies have increasingly become the focus of regulation. This paper draws on life‐history interviews with a small group of New Zealand kindergarten teachers. The teachers' stories demonstrate the tensions between teaching within a neoliberal context, whi…

This article discusses the findings of a small‐scale study undertaken with a sample of 10 teachers in Catholic schools in New Zealand.
