  • A machine learning analysis of school-level drivers of organisational innovativeness

Open Access•Hayri İncekara, Ahmet Göçen et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Educational Change•2026

This study applied explainable machine learning (ML) to identify school-level conditions that predict organisational innovativeness using OECD TALIS 2018 principal data from 47 education systems. Six machine learning algorithms were compared, and XGBoost achieved the best predictive performance. SHAP (SHapley Additive exPlanations) was then applied to interpret the model and rank the most influential factors. The results show that organisational …

  • Exploring the moderator role of organisational ambidexterity in the relationship between instructional leadership and teacher instructional practices

Open Access•Ömür Çoban, Mehmet Tufan Yalçın et al.•ARTICLE•Educational Management…•2026

This study aimed to explore schools’ ambidexterity profiles and examine how each profile influences the relationship between instructional leadership and teacher instructional practices. Using data from 1150 teachers across 108 schools in Turkey, we employed multilevel latent profile analysis to group schools into clusters based on aggregated teachers’ responses to organisational ambidexterity. We conducted moderation analyses with latent profile…

  • Transformational leadership and work interference with family in Türkiye

Open Access•Alper Uslukaya, Bahaddin Demirdiş et al.•ARTICLE•Educational Management…•2025

In this study, a moderated mediation model was tested, in which transformational leadership triggers teachers’ work interference with family, with teacher commitment as a mediator and power distance as a moderator. To this end, data collected from 698 teachers across 59 schools were analyzed using a Bayesian-estimated multilevel structural equation modeling approach. The results indicated that transformational leadership was not directly related …

  • Unravelling the Relationship Between Teacher Psychological Hardiness, School Leadership, Teacher Collaboration and Teacher Commitment in Türkiye

Open Access•Ali Çağatay Kılınç, Ömür Çoban et al.•ARTICLE•European Journal of Education•2025

This study tested a moderated mediation model of school leadership's relationship with teacher commitment, where teacher collaboration was treated as the mediator and teacher psychological hardiness as the moderator. Employing a cross‐sectional survey design and gathering data from 553 teachers working in 61 schools in Türkiye, we performed a multilevel structural equation modelling with Bayesian estimation to estimate the structural links betwee…

  • Trust, Professionalism and Empowerment

Open Access•Mehmet Tufan Yalçın, Ramazan Atasoy et al.•ARTICLE•European Journal of Education•2025

This study investigates the impact of school leadership on changed instructional practices through the mediating roles of trust in administrators, teacher professionalism and psychological empowerment. Data were collected from 925 teachers in Türkiye and analysed using structural equation modelling. Results indicate that school leadership significantly enhances changed instructional practices, with effects mediated through trust in administrators…
