The Determinants of Membership in Cooperative Banks

By identifying economic and non-economic incentives to be members of cooperatives, our conceptual framework is novel. Our empirical work analyzes panel data from 2001–2009 for Finnish cooperative banks and compares two empirical con…
The Role of Proximity in Value Preferences
Proximity is seen as an essential part of the relationship between a co‐operative and its members, one that is a source of member value and competitive advantage. As the restructuring trend in co‐operatives has tended towards scale and centralization, proximity to the member decreases. Thus, proximity between the members and the co‐operative is a major challenge. Still, proximity has received limited attention in both the co‐operative and consume…
Collective psychological ownership within the work and organizational context
The construct collective psychological ownership is introduced. Reflecting the psychology of “us” and “ours,” collective psychological ownership emerges through interactive dynamics whereby individuals come to a single and shared mind‐set as it relates to a sense of ownership for a particular object. After providing a conceptual definition for the construct, we turn our attention to a detailed elaboration of the construct, offering comments on it…
Psychological ownership within the job design context

We develop the connection between job design and (a) the motives facilitating psychological ownership, (b) the routes through which psychological ownership emerges, and (c) the individual‐level outcomes (e.g., emotional, att…
