With the popularity of short vlogs, a growing number of tourist destinations have begun to pay attention to their marketing value. Given this heightened attention, vloggers have increasingly been shooting tourism vlogs. This study establishes a structural equation model (SEM) based on the literature review on vlogger attributes, parasocial interaction, cynicism and travel intention. Uncertainty and the Tourism Industry: Nonlinearity, Asymmetries, and Implications
This study investigates the asymmetric effects of pandemic‐induced uncertainty on tourism demand from Western Europe to the United States of America, offering a novel perspective within the framework of business‐cycle theory. Traditional models typically assume a symmetric impact of external shocks, such as pandemics, on tourism demand; however, this study challenges that assumption. According to business‐cycle theory, cyclical fluctuations durin…

However, this reaction decreases after the second period and completely loses its effect after the fourth period. Hotel occupancy rate responds weakly and short term negatively to the shock of global econom…

Formation of marriage in England and Singapore by contract: Void marriage and non-marriage
There is substantial similarity in the marriage laws in England and Singapore. This essay discusses several cases that demonstrate that fairly basic issues in their respective laws of the formation of marriage remain unresolved. Two in particular have troubled the courts. First, how to view a solemnization that failed to comply with statutory prescriptions. Second, how to understand void marriage and distinguish it from non-marriage. It will be s…
Measuring the Transaction sector in the Australian economy, 1911–1991
Following Wallis and North’s pioneering attempt to estimate the size of transaction costs in the United States over the period 1870 to 1970, we seek to augment this seminal study by applying their methodology to the Australian economy for the period 1911 to 1991. Broadly speaking, our results support the Wallis and North finding with comparable magnitudes and growth rates in both the private and public transaction sectors
Walking the Tightrope: The Role of Action for Aids in the Provision of Social Services in Singapore
In societies where homosexuality is legally proscribed, gays and lesbians rely on private and informal networks for mutual self-help, information dissemination, sociability, and the sharing of gay goods. This is particularly the case in Singapore where an authoritarian and paternalistic state is actively involved in the marriage and procreation of its citizens, and is hostile to homosexuality. In the era of AIDS, a new social movement has develop…
