  • Physical activity during school time

Open Access•Mulki Haji, Suzanne Lundvall et al.•ARTICLE•Sport Education and Society•2026

Previous research on inequalities in physical activity (PA) during school time has mainly focused on identifying differences between groups within social categories. Less attention has been given to pupils’ own perspectives on how their social categories influence their physical activity. Therefore, this study aims to explore pupils’ understanding of the importance of, and the intersections between, social categories in PA during school time. Thi…

  • Covid-19 induced changes in physical activity patterns, screen time and sleep among Swedish adolescents - a cohort study

Open Access•Björg Helgadóttir, Andreas Fröberg et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2023

Although no significant (α = 0.05) changes were seen in MVPA, both LiPA and sedentary time as well as sleep and screen time changed in unfavourable ways. More intense activities are often organised and seem to have withstood the pandemic, while less intense activities decreased. Some groups were more vulnerable and will need directed intervention in the post-pandemic period as well as when future pandemics hit

  • Searching for the alternative
