    The Şahkulu Rebellion, which posed a significant threat to Ottoman stability, took place in the Teke region in 1511. Various religious, political, and socio-economic factors prompted Şahkulu to launch the insurgent movement. The rebellion ended with Şahkulu’s defeat in Sivas.
