An artistic event in the system of literary genres and the problem of motif typology
The paper explores the specification of artistic events within the literary genre system. It demonstrates that in the genres of epic, lyric, and drama, artistic events acquire distinct characteristics and interact differently with the hero, narration, and reader (or spectator) instances. The typology of a motif, which serves as a generalization of semantically similar artistic events, can be based on the genre-specific differences. The essence of…
Lyrical Plot Formation in Modern Short Prose
The article analyzes the poetics of contemporary writers working in the short fiction genre: Sergei Tikhanov, Evgeny Nikitin and Danila Davydov. Nikitin develops the vector of narrative movement from the chain of events to the lyrical plot, while Tikhanov’s narrative is transcended by ornamental text, the dynamics of which shapes the lyrical plot. Davydov reveal…
Cyclization of Short Prose in Modern Russian Literature
Russian literature at the turn of the 20th – 21st centuries is marked by the systematic development of very short prose. Many people write it – novelists who are tired of large forms, poets who have felt an interest in the opposite type of artistic writing, as well as authors who initially form their poetics in this format. The format criterion in this case has a dual nature and functionality: the point of reference here is the actual volume of t…
Peculiarity of the memory plot in the poem by Boris Volkov “Brought on the scaffold”
The paper is devoted to the poetry of Boris Volkov, the forgotten author of the Eastern emigration (1894-1954). During his lifetime, only a single collection of his poems, “In the Dust of Foreign Roads,” was published in 1934. The plot movement in the book appears as the memory narrative, reflecting the dramatic life experience of the author. He finds himself in the very midst of Russian history, at the beginning of the 20th century: participatio…

Text universals as a theoretical concept
The universals of the artistic language are fundamentally different from the universals of other language systems. The artistic language itself is opposed to both the so-called “natural” languages and artificial systems since it acts as a secondary modeling system resulting from the removal of such universals inherent in ordinary speech as automatism in the use of already existing statements, an orientation towards ease of understanding, etc. Sec…

The described lyrical situation can theoretically be continued in both directions. The reference points of impressions turn out to be significant, and …

The New Rhetoric of Ch. Perelman and the Method Ways of Rhetoric Argumentation in H. Poincaré Works
The article discusses the prerequisites for the creation of a neo-rhetorical theory of the Brussels school. The authors proceed from the premise that the doctrine created by Ch. Perelman was not a one-step act, but was the result of a change in the scientific and philosophical paradigm of the first half of the twentieth century.
