Urartian Sibilants in Armenian
It is long known that Urartian has left certain loan words in Classical Armenian. Recent linguistic evidence points to the likelihood that the Urartians came westward from Central Asia after the Hurrians, passing south of the Caspian Sea but north of the area influenced by the Assyrians, and settled in the Sub-Caucasus; later, driven out in the mid first millennium by the Armenians and perhaps the Persians, the Urartians moved north to the South …

L'A. apporte quelques reflexions critiques a l'etude faite par B. Olsen sur la reconstruction des reflexes des laryngales en armenien a partir de l'indo-europeen. Olsen soutient que les trois items lexicaux * EC-, * AC- et * OC- ne sont pas trois couleurs de l'indo-europeen * HC-, mais qu'ils n'en sont qu'une, celle de l'armenien aC-. Ce qui revient a dire que les trois couleurs, evidentes en grec, constituent un processus propres a cette langue
