  • Argonaute2 and Argonaute4 Involved in the Pathogenesis of Kawasaki Disease via mRNA Expression Profiles

    Open Access•Zon‐Min Lee, Zon-Min Lee et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2025

    The data revealed that the AGO2 and AGO4 genes displayed significant within-group differences with p = 0.034 and 0.007, respectively. In AGO2, significant differences were observed between KD1 vs. HC + FC with p = 0.034. KD1 appears higher than the other specimens in AGO4, with significant differences between KD1 and HC ( p = 0.033), KD1 and FC ( p = 0.033), KD1 and KD3 ( p = 0.013), and KD1 and HC + FC ( p = 0.007). We observed no substantial di…

  • Number of Kawasaki Disease Admissions Is Associated with Number of Domestic Covid-19 and Severe Enterovirus Case Numbers in Taiwan

    Open Access•Mindy Ming‐Huey Guo, Kuender D Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2022

Background: Non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) introduced in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including mask-wearing and social distancing, have changed the prevalence of circulating viruses in the community. Since viral infections represent a potential triggering factor for the development of Kawasaki disease (KD), we examined the relationship between KD admission rates and the number of COVID-19, severe influenza, and severe enterovirus …

  • Comparison of Laboratory Data between Children with Kawasaki Disease and Covid-19

    Open Access•Xiaoping Liu, Xiao-Ping Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2022

In this COVID-19 pandemic period, clinicians should pay attention to children with COVID-19 infection when high WBC, platelet, procalcitonin, and AST values are present in order to provide early diagnosis for KD or multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C)

  • Near Infrared Spectroscopy Detects Change of Tissue Hemoglobin and Water Levelsin Kawasaki Disease and Coronary Artery Lesions

    Open Access•Ho‐Chang Kuo, Shih‐Feng Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2022

Background: Kawasaki disease (KD) is a form of systemic vasculitis that mainly affects children under the age of five years old. Limb swelling and redness are among the primary symptoms of KD. Previous studies have reported that wireless optical monitoring systems can identify limb indurations characteristics in patients with KD. Therefore, we conducted this study to monitor the dynamic changes in different stages of KD and the disease outcome of…

  • How Did the Covid-19 Pandemic Affect Population Mobility in Taiwan

    Open Access•Shih‐Feng Liu, Hui-Chuan Chang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

The Alpha variant affected more individuals than the Omicron and pre-existing types. Furthermore, changes in population visits in transit locations were most impacted. This change was consistent with the daily new number of confirmed cases per million people and the 7-day rolling average reproduction rate
