  • Gender differences in plasma pharmacokinetics and hepatic metabolism of geissoschizine methyl ether from Uncaria hook in rats

Open Access•Hirotaka Kushida, Takashi Matsumoto et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2021

These results suggest that the cause of gender differences in plasma GM pharmacokinetics in rats is most likely because of male-dependent CYP2C11 and CYP3A2, and provide also useful information to further evaluate the pharmacological and toxicological effects in future. This study is the first to demonstrate that the gender differences in plasma GM pharmacokinetics in rats are caused by the gender-dependent metabolism of GM

  • Pharmacokinetic study of Ninjin'yoeito

Open Access•Takashi Matsumoto, Mikina Takiyama et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2021

Ninjin'yoeito (NYT), a Japanese traditional Kampo medicine, has been reported to exert various clinical benefits such as relief from fatigue, malaise, anorexia, frailty, sarcopenia, and cognitive dysfunction. Recently, some review articles described the pharmacological effects of NYT and additionally indicated the possibility that multiple ingredients in NYT contribute to these effects. However, pharmacokinetic data on the ingredients are essenti…

  • The ameliorating effects of tokishakuyakusan in a rat model of implantation failure involves endometrial gland leukemia inhibitory factor and decidualization

Open Access•Kiyoshi Terawaki, Yayoi Saegusa et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2021

The mechanism whereby TSS ameliorates RU-486-induced implantation failure in rats may involve the alleviation of decreased LIF production derived from the endometrial gland, and a dysfunction of decidualization, including lower progesterone responsiveness in the model. These findings may partly contribute to the interpretation of the beneficial effects of TSS on infertility

  • Cost-effectiveness analysis of percutaneous mitral valve repair with the MitraClip delivery system for patients with mitral regurgitation in Japan

Ingrid Gilcher-Holtey, Hiroyuki Sakamaki et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Medical Economics•2019

Aims: The objective of the study is to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of percutaneous mitral valve repair (TMVr) with the MitraClip NT system (MitraClip procedure) for patients with symptomatic severe mitral regurgitation (MR) at high surgical risk in line with the methodological guideline for cost-effectiveness evaluation by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. Material and Methods: The cost-effectiveness of MitraClip procedure was evalu…

  • Interactions between crude drug extracts used in Japanese traditional Kampo medicines and organic anion-transporting polypeptide 2B1

Open Access•Rie Iijima, Tomoki Watanabe et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2018

  • The Revolt of Ibn al-Ash‘ath in Ta’rīkh and Futūḥ

Open Access•Takashi Matsumoto•ARTICLE•Bulletin of the Society for Near…•2010

In this paper, I have analyzed the personality of Ibn al-Ash‘ath on the basis of the descriptions of his revolt contained in Tabarī’s Ta’rīkh and Ibn A‘tham’s Futūḥ. My analysis confirms the following points. First, the order of events of the revolt as described in the two materials is not significantly different. Second, there is consistency in the portrayal of Ibn al-Ash‘ath in each of the two materials. Third, while there is consistency in his…
