The author provides a few comments on the results presented by Bass and Hebert (1995) in a study of marketing managers' responses to an ethical scenario
Sex Differences in the Effect of Supervisory Consideration on Sales Force Turnover

The Mach IV scale was administered to 1,076 marketing practitioners. Analysis indicated that, contrary to past findings, women were significantly more Machiavellian than men, with respect to various levels of education, income, age. S. Schwartz suggested that job involvement may be better understood when viewed as obsession-compulsion. In this paper several of the relationships proposed by Schwartz were examined; results offer preliminary support for his viewpoint
Machiavellianism
122 purchasing managers were higher in Machiavellian orientation than most groups previously examined. 24 female purchasing managers were higher in Mach orientation than the 98 male managers
