Performance Expectancy as a Determinant of Actual Performance: Failure to Replicate
This study replicared part of a study by Aronson and Carlsmith and added two groups under different instructions. Aronson and Carlsmith reported findings which demonstrated a relationship between expectancy and performance and which were consistent with predictions from dissonance theory.
