The contribution of multimodal AI technologies to EFL teachers’ pedagogical effectiveness and perceived readiness for AI-mediated education: A qualitative study
Multimodal Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies can influence different aspects of teaching English as a foreign language (EFL). However, the way of adopting such innovations may affect teachers’ pedagogy and readiness for a new mode of education mediated by AI tools is left underexplored. To fill the gap, this study examined 40 Chinese EFL teachers’ perceptions about the contributions of multimodal AI tools to their pedagogical effectivenes…
The mediating role of emotion regulation in the link between enjoyment, anxiety, and emotional disengagement in multilingual learning: A response surface analysis
While recent second language emotion research has increasingly examined foreign language enjoyment (FLE) and foreign language classroom anxiety (FLCA), most studies treat them as separate predictors, leaving unclear how their combined patterns link to emotional disengagement (ED) via emotion regulation. To address this gap, the present study examined how congruent and incongruent combinations of FLE and FLCA relate to cognitive reappraisal (ERCR)…
Processing mechanism of negative discounting behavior: Explanation based on query theory
Does the trade of medical products contribute to promoting human development?—An empirical analysis based on data from China and RCEP countries
Background: As the RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) Agreement deepens, the role of medical product trade in safeguarding regional public health security and promoting economic development has become increasingly prominent. Methods: Based on data from 2004 to 2023, this study employs the stochastic frontier gravity model and benchmark regression model to explore the impact of China's medical product export efficiency on the devel…
Investigating the Economic Influence on the Needs for Language Assessment Literacy among EFL Teachers: A Comparative Study between Middle School EFL Teachers in Guangzhou and Meizhou in China
Previous research on teacher language assessment literacy (LAL) ignored the impact of economic factors on LAL needs. This study aims to fill that gap by examining the perceptions of LAL needs among EFL teachers in Guangzhou and Meizhou, two cities in China representing economically developed and economically underdeveloped settings. The research utilized a questionnaire adapted from Kremmel and Harding and supplemented with semi-structured interv…
The Effects of Using AI Tools on Critical Thinking in English Literature Classes Among EFL Learners: An Intervention Study
Artificial intelligence (AI)‐driven learning has become an irreversible trend in foreign language education. Scholars are increasingly focusing on this field, yet few have examined its impact within English literature classes. To fill this gap, we designed an 8‐week intervention study with mixed methods and recruited 90 students, with 42 in the experimental group and 48 in the control group, matched for average age, English proficiency and gender…
Ginkgo biloba L. exocarp petroleum ether extract inhibits methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus by modulating ion transport, virulence, and biofilm formation in vitro and in vivo
Exercise Adherence and Body Dysmorphic Disorder: Chain Mediating Effect of Appearance-Based Rejection Sensitivity and Social Anxiety
We explored the relationship between exercise adherence and body dysmorphic disorder with a convenience sample of 964 Chinese college students. Participants completed the Scale of Exercise Adherence, the Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale, the Appearance-Based Rejection Sensitivity Scale, and the Body Dysmorphic Disorder Examination Self-Report Scale. Exercise adherence was negatively correlated with body dysmorphic disorder. Appearance-based reje…
