  • Evaluating the causal links between long-term exposure to artificial light at night and lung cancer mortality based on the Pearl River Cohort Study with 0.5 million participants

Open Access•Jie Jiang, Xingling Ruan et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Urban Management•2026

Artificial light at night (LAN) pollution is a growing public health concern. However, there has been limited epidemiological research on the LAN-lung cancer mortality links. Evidence from large cohorts and causal inference approaches is far more limited. We included 476,328 individuals from 35 randomly selected communities in southern China. A satellite-based approach was used to assess LAN exposure, which was assigned to participants based on t…

  • Primary care providers’ perspectives on the implementation of couple-based collaborative management for Chinese older adults with type 2 diabetes: A mixed-methods study

Open Access•Yingxin Xu, Conghui Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Background: Couple-based collaborative management (CCMM) has shown promise in supporting chronic disease self-management among older adults and addressing the growing public health burden, but its integration into primary care remains uncertain. This study explored primary care providers' (PCPs) perceptions of CCMM using normalization process theory (NPT) to identify key factors influencing its routine implementation. Methods: Thirty five PCPs in…

  • Association between weight-adjusted-waist index and dyslipidemia among Japanese adult residents: A retrospective study

Open Access•Yafeng Zhang, Shanshan Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Critical Public Health•2026

The Waist-adjusted Weight Index (WWI) is a novel anthropometric marker, its association with dyslipidemia in Asian populations remains unclear. This study examines the relationship between WWI and dyslipidemia in Japanese adults. Grounded in adipose tissue dysfunction and metabolic syndrome mechanisms, WWI, an index of central adiposity independent of body weight, serves as a biologically plausible predictor of dyslipidemia. We retrospectively an…

  • Pre-disaster flood prevention funds allocation and benefit analysis considering social vulnerability to enhance urban sustainable flood resilience

Open Access•Jiahao Zhong, Yanmei Yang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Disaster…•2025

  • The effectiveness of the flipped classroom: A second-order meta-analysis

Open Access•Yujie Ma, Huihui Fan et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2025

  • Socioeconomic status and vocabulary development among children: A meta-analysis

Open Access•Yujie Ma, Huihui Fan et al.•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2024

  • Associations between patterns of blood heavy metal exposure and health outcomes: Insights from NHANES 2011–2016

Open Access•Xiangyu Wang, Xinhao Han et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

The identified patterns of seven-metal mixtures in NHANES 2011-2016 were robust. Pattern 1 exhibited higher correlations with hypertension, heart disease, and malignancy compared to pattern 2, suggesting an interaction between these metals. Particularly, the identified patterns could offer valuable insights into the management of hypertension in healthy populations

  • Metabolic diseases and healthy aging: Identifying environmental and behavioral risk factors and promoting public health

Open Access•Kexin Zhang, Yujie Ma et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2023

Aging is a progressive and irreversible pathophysiological process that manifests as the decline in tissue and cellular functions, along with a significant increase in the risk of various aging-related diseases, including metabolic diseases. While advances in modern medicine have significantly promoted human health and extended human lifespan, metabolic diseases such as obesity and type 2 diabetes among the older adults pose a major challenge to …

  • Development and validation of a predictive model for depression risk in the U.S. adult population: Evidence from the 2007–2014 NHANES

Open Access•Wei Tian, Yafeng Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Psychology•2023

This study developed a depression risk assessment model that incorporates physical activity and blood lead factors. This model is a promising tool for screening, assessing, and treating depression in the general population. However, because the corrected c-indices of the predictive model have not yet reached an acceptable threshold of 0.70, caution should be exercised when drawing conclusions. Further research is required to improve the performan…

  • Er-Xian decoction attenuates ovariectomy-induced osteoporosis by modulating fatty acid metabolism and IGF1/PI3K/AKT signaling pathway

Open Access•Yujie Ma, Jing Hu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2023

  • Danning tablets alleviate high fat diet-induced obesity and fatty liver in mice via modulating SREBP pathway

Open Access•Yujie Ma, Jinmei Li et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2021
