  • Enhancing ultrasound training for breast cancer diagnosis: A controlled study of AI-assisted learning

Open Access•Shuang Wu, Weihao Wang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Medical Education•2026

OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to develop and evaluate an AI-assisted teaching platform to enhance diagnostic competency in breast ultrasound. The goal was to assess whether AI integration improves diagnostic accuracy, learning efficiency, and participant satisfaction within a residency training program. METHODS: We conducted a cohort-based study at our hospital. Twelve junior residents (experimental group) underwent AI-assisted training via a newl…

  • Educational robotics and student development: A second-order meta-analysis

Weihao Wang, Ge Shen•ARTICLE•Journal of Research on Technology…•2026

Despite growing scholarly attention to the impact of educational robotics on student development, there remains a lack of second-order meta-analysis clarifying the overall effect of educational robotics interventions. This study conducted a second-order meta-analysis synthesizing 17 effect sizes from 15 primary meta-analysis, documenting and analyzing their key characteristics. Results revealed that educational robotics demonstrated a moderate po…

  • Soil Salt Content Estimation Through Integrated Analysis of ZiYuan1 Hyperspectral and Sentinel‐1 Synthetic Aperture Radar Images

Open Access•Youxin Sun, Xia Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2026

Soil salinization adversely affects soil health and poses a threat to crop growth. Accurately estimating soil salt content (SSC) is of critical importance for achieving sustainable agricultural development. Hyperspectral remote sensing provides abundant spectral information that reflects the spectral reflectance characteristics of soil salinity, while synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data offer backscatter coefficient features associated with soil …

  • Mixed-Ownership Reform and Firm Productivity: New Evidence from Machine Learning

Open Access•Zebiao Li, Weihao Wang et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2025

This study examines the impact of mixed-ownership reform on total factor productivity (TFP) of Chinese state-owned enterprises (SOEs), based on panel data of 1,211 firms from 1998 to 2007. The analysis identifies two primary reform pathways: reducing the share of state-owned capital and removing the SOE identity. Results reveal that eliminating SOE identity significantly improves TFP, while merely reducing the state-owned capital share exerts a n…

  • Global burden of low back pain from 1990 to 2021: A comprehensive analysis of risk factors and trends using the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021

Open Access•Nan Yang, Jingkai Di et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

Disease burden of low back pain exhibit varying manifestations across different regions and temporal dimensions. Higher levels of the Socio-Demographic Index(SDI), increasing age, female gender and adverse occupational ergonomic factors may be important risk elements for the burden of low back pain. Meanwhile, certain changes in epidemiological trends may alleviate this burden to some extent. In the absence of effective intervention measures, the…

  • How does diabetic peripheral neuropathy impact patients' burden of illness and the economy? A retrospective study in Beijing, China

Open Access•Qi Pan, Sijia Fei et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2023

Objective Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) causes significant illness in patients and has a negative impact on the economy. The objective of this study is to evaluate the cost and quantity of anti-diabetic drugs needed by patients with or without DPN, as well as their variation trends in Beijing between 2016 and 2018. Methods This observational cross-sectional study used data on diabetic patients with outpatient medication records obtained fr…

  • How School Climate Affects the Development of the Social and Emotional Skills of Underprivileged-Background Students—An Empirical Study Based on the SSES2019 Data

Open Access•Weihao Wang, Jian Xiao et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2022

Background: Promoting the development of the social and emotional skills of underprivileged-background students is an integral part of educational and social equity. To date, there has been a lack of relevant research in this field. Aims: This study investigated the impacts of cooperative school climate and competitive school climate on the development of the social and emotional skills of underprivileged-background students. Sample: This study u…

  • Cardioprotective Roles of the Chinese Medicinal Formula Bao-Xin-Tang on Acute Myocardial Infarction in Rats

Open Access•Yang Wang, Weihao Wang et al.•ARTICLE•African Journal of Traditional…•2017

Background: Bao-Xin-Tang (BXT) is a traditional Chinese medicinal formula used for the treatment of coronary heart disease and known to have favorable therapeutic benefits. The current study was designed to determine whether BXT has a cardioprotective role for acute myocardial infarction. The underlying mechanisms were also explored. Materials and Methods: The Sprague-Dawley rat model of acute myocardial infarction was established by occluding th…
