Open Access•Ting Liang, Zilin Ai et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2025

Introduction: Migrant workers constitute a significant portion of China's workforce, and their health directly affects labor supply and economic stability. Health vulnerability plays a crucial role in shaping the well-being of migrant workers, yet its determinants, particularly the impact of temperature change, remain underexplored. This study, based on the socio-ecological model, investigates how temperature variations influence the health vulne…

Open Access•Huijun Lei, Miaomiao Chen et al.•ARTICLE•SSM - Population Health•2025

Against the backdrop of simultaneous national agendas for green transition and healthy ageing, the nutritional behaviour of older adults is being reshaped by emerging forms of institutional governance. • Global, regional, and national burden of colorectal cancer associated with diet high in red meat, 1990 to 2021

Open Access•Huijun Lei, Miaomiao Chen et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

To evaluate the global, regional, and national burden of colorectal cancer (CRC) attributable to diets high in red meat from 1990 to 2021, project trends to 2036, and stratify findings by age, sex, and Sociodemographic Index (SDI). Data on CRC burden associated with diet high in red meat were extracted from the Global Health Data Exchange (GHDx). Age-standardized rates (ASR) and estimated annual percentage change (EAPC) were calculated to assess …

  • In silico analysis of the potential mechanism of a preventive Chinese medicine formula on coronavirus disease 2019

Open Access•Huaying Wu, Ke Gong et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2021

The present study showed that XG-1 exerts a preventive effect in close contacts against COVID-19. The underlying mechanism may be related to modulate immunity response through multiple components, pathways, and several target genes co-expressed with ACE2. These findings provide preliminary evidences and methodological reference for the potential preventive mechanism of XG-1 against COVID-19
