  • Negative parenting style and depressive symptoms among college students

Open Access•Ruipeng Wu, Yeen Huang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Psychology•2025

The study indicates that negative parenting styles contribute to depressive symptoms among college students through EDs. Maladaptive CERS amplify the impact of EDs on depressive symptoms, suggesting the importance of addressing these strategies in preventive and therapeutic settings. This research underscores the need for interventions targeting family dynamics and emotional regulation to mitigate depressive symptoms in vulnerable populations

  • Hemoglobin as a mediator between air pollution and growth outcomes in children under 60 months

Open Access•Xingyi Jin, Di Wu et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

Postnatal exposure to air pollution (PM 2.5 , PM 10 , SO 2 , CO) increases the risk of stunting, particularly during the critical developmental window of 6-23 months of age. This effect is partially mediated by hemoglobin levels, and YYB can moderate this relationship. These findings highlight the importance of prolonged nutritional interventions in mitigating the adverse effects of air pollution on child growth and development, with significant …

  • Eating behavior during pregnancy mediates the association between depression and diet quality--a new strategy for intervention in pregnancy

Open Access•Xingyi Jin, Jian Zhu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2024

Background: Depression can result in changes in eating behavior and decrease the quality of eating. It has been shown that maternal depression during pregnancy can result in malnutrition, which can have adverse effects on the pregnancy and the offspring. There is currently no clear association between depression and diet. Methods: Five hundred and forty-nine pregnant women recruited from Danyang Maternal and Child Health Hospital in Jiangsu Provi…

  • Sex differences and dietary patterns in the association of air pollutants and hypertension

Open Access•Chen Zhang, Yuanyuan Wang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

Our findings suggested that sex differences existed in the association between dietary patterns, air pollutants and hypertension. Furthermore, we found that adherence to traditional southern pattern may mitigate the risk of long-term PM 2.5 exposure-induced hypertension in males

  • Pea Protein-Derived Peptides Inhibit Hepatic Glucose Production via the Gluconeogenic Signaling in the AML-12 Cells

Open Access•Wang Liao, Xinyi Cao et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

Pea protein is considered to be a high quality dietary protein source, but also it is an ideal raw material for the production of bioactive peptides. Although the hypoglycemic effect of pea protein hydrolysate (PPH) has been previously reported, the underlying mechanisms, in particular its effect on the hepatic gluconeogenesis, remain to be elucidated. In the present study, we found that PPH suppressed glucose production in mouse liver cell-line …

  • The relationship between dietary patterns and overweight and obesity among adult in Jiangsu Province of China

    Open Access•Yuanyuan Wang, Yuan-Yuan Wang et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2021

The traditional dietary pattern only have positive association with overweight and obesity in men in Jiangsu Province, China
