  • How was the Stench ‘Translated’ into a Low Temperature Storage

  • Development and Validation of a Trigger Tool for Identifying Drug-Related Emergency Department Visits

    Open Access•Sung‐Hee Hwang, Sung-Hee Hwang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

There are various trigger tools for detecting adverse drug events (ADEs), however, a drug-related emergency department (ED) visit trigger tool (DrEDTT) has not yet been developed. We aimed to develop and validate a DrEDTT with a multi-center cohort. In this cross-sectional study, we developed the DrEDTT consisting of 28 triggers through a comprehensive literature review and three phase expert group discussion. Next, we evaluated the performance o…

  • Progress on sodium reduction in South Korea

Open Access•Hye-Kyung Park, Yoonna Lee et al.•ARTICLE•BMJ Global Health•2020

INTRODUCTION: 4000 mg/day, twice the recommended upper limit. METHODS: In 2012, South Korea implemented its National Plan to Reduce Sodium Intake, with a goal of reducing population sodium consumption by 20%, to 3900 mg/day, by 2020. The plan included five key components: (1) a consumer awareness campaign designed to change food consumption behaviours; (2) increased availability of low-sodium foods at schools and worksites; (3) increased availabi…

  • Timeliness of national notifiable diseases surveillance system in Korea

    Open Access•Hyosoon Yoo, Hyo-Soon Yoo et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2009

Time from disease onset to diagnosis generally contributed most to the delay in reporting. It is needed to promote public education and to improve clinical guidelines. Rapid reporting by doctors should be encouraged, and unification of recommended reporting time limit can be helpful. Our study also demonstrates the utility of the overall assessment of time-lag distributions for disease-specific strategies to improve surveillance
