  • The association between chronotype and social anxiety among Chinese university students

Open Access•Yingying Zhu, Junling Liu et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

These findings deepened our understanding of how and when (or for "whom") chronotype is related to social anxiety, offering a theoretical foundation and practical insights for preventing and addressing social anxiety risk in young adult university students, particularly those with evening chronotypes

  • Assessment of Financial Toxicity Among Patients With Advanced Lung Cancer in Western China

Open Access•Tianqi Xu, Leidi Xu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2022

Background: Lung cancer is the leading source of cancer-caused disability-adjusted life years. Medical cost burden impacts the well-being of patients through reducing income, cutting daily expenses, curtailing leisure activities, and depleting exhausting savings. The COmprehensive Score for Financial Toxicity (COST) was created and validated by De Souza and colleagues. Our study intends to measure the financial burdens of cancer therapy and inves…

  • Characterization and Transcriptome Analysis of a Long-Chain n-Alkane-Degrading Strain Acinetobacter pittii SW-1

Open Access•Weina Kong, Cheng Zhao et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

    Strain sw-1, isolated from 7619-m seawater of the Mariana Trench, was identified as Acinetobacter pittii by 16S rRNA gene and whole-genome sequencing. A. pittii sw-1 was able to efficiently utilize long-chain n -alkanes (C 18 -C 36 ), but not short- and medium-chain n -alkanes (C 8 -C 16 ). The degradation rate of C 20 was 91.25%, followed by C 18 , C 22 , C 24 , C 32 , and C 36 with the degradation rates of 89.30%, 84.03%, 80.29%, 30.29%, and 13…

  • Evaluation of Traffic Density Parameters as an Indicator of Vehicle Emission-Related Near-Road Air Pollution

    Open Access•Shi V Liu, Fu-Lin Chen et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2017

An important factor in evaluating health risk of near-road air pollution is to accurately estimate the traffic-related vehicle emission of air pollutants. Inclusion of traffic parameters such as road length/area, distance to roads, and traffic volume/intensity into models such as land use regression (LUR) models has improved exposure estimation. To better understand the relationship between vehicle emissions and near-road air pollution, we evalua…
