Miejska kloaka – między bliskością a wyparciem
This article aims to suggest some insights that could be gained from a kind of”reverse engineering” approach. By demonstrating how biological, political, social and scientific networks were interwoven at the time of the formation of a modern metropolis like London, the article aims to highlight the complex interconnectivity that is being “disentangled” in many places today. It seeks to draw attention to the often-invisible post-humanist connectio…
Watching Oppenheimer through Latour’s lens [1]
Purpose This study aims to demonstrate what myths of and about science are reproduced in this popular cultural work (movie – “Oppenheimer”). This is done by examining the unconscious hegemonic positions supported by the reproduction of stereotypical and mythical images of science. Design/methodology/approach Content/Text Analysis: The conceptual analysis of a cultural text – a film (“Oppenheimer”) – through a theoretical apparatus (B. Latour’s th…

Is Active Moss Biomonitoring Comparable to Air Filter Standard Sampling
Recently, significant attention has been paid to air quality awareness and its impact on human health, especially in urban agglomerations. Many types of dust samplers for air quality monitoring are used by governmental environmental monitoring agencies. However, these techniques are associated with high costs; as a consequence, biological methods such as active moss biomonitoring are being developed. The main disadvantages of such techniques are …
Ciężar wyboru, złożoność świata i jej redukcja. Gra w Go/Weiqi jako praktykowanie „metafizyki empirycznej”
