  • Potential of smartwatch touchscreen glass for electron paramagnetic resonance dosimetry in radiological emergencies

Open Access•Jae Seok Kim, Byeong Ryong Park et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2026

Introduction: In radiological emergencies, retrospective dosimetry is essential for estimating absorbed radiation doses when conventional dosimetric data are unavailable. Various human-derived tissues and surrounding materials have been used for dose assessment using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) techniques. However, because the retrospective dosimetric materials have inherent limitations, dose assessment should reasonably be determined t…

  • Effect of HNO3 and H2SO4 on the Paddy Ecosystem

Open Access•Min‐Seok Park, Minseok Park et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2020

Paddy mesocosms comprising of rice ( Oryza sativa ), snail ( Pomacea canaliculata ), and worm ( Tubifex tubifex ) were used to assess the damage caused by two acids (HNO 3 and H 2 SO 4 ) at predicted no-effect concentration (PNEC) and hazardous concentration for 50% of species (HC 50 ) levels. In the fourth week, the fresh weight and shoot height of O. sativa at H 2 SO 4 -HC 50 were reduced by 83.2% and 30.3%, respectively. Wilted leaves (%) at H…
