Polish Adaptation of the Yale Physical Activity Survey
The aim of this study was to assess the measurement properties of a Polish adaptation of the Yale Physical Activity Survey (YPAS-PL). The Polish cultural adaptation of the YPAS was administered to a group of 104 people aged 65 to 89 years (mean age 72 ± 5). To assess the reliability of the YPAS-PL, a test-retest procedure was applied. Validity was assessed by comparing the results of the YPAS-PL with accelerometery (ActiGraph wGT3X+). The indicat…
The Physical Activity Questionnaire for the Elderly (Paqe)
The aim of the study is to assess the reliability and validity of the Polish adaptation of the Physical Activity Questionnaire for the Elderly (PAQE-PL). One hundred and four older adults (75 women and 29 men) aged 65 to 89 (mean 72.2 ± 5.7 years) participated in the study. The test-retest procedure was used to evaluate the reliability of the PAQE-PL. Validity was assessed by comparing the results of the PAQE-PL with the measurements from an acce…
The Effect of Sensorimotor Training on the Postural Stability of Visually Impaired Women Over 50 Years of Age
Previous studies indicated that blind and visually impaired people are a group with greater risk of falls. Postmenopausal changes significantly decrease physical efficiency and impair the body's mechanisms for maintaining postural stability. In addition, the frequency of falls among women is much higher than in men. The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of sensorimotor exercise on changes in postural stability of visually impaired women…
Physical activity of underweight, normal weight and overweight Polish adolescents
The aim of the study was to investigate the relationships of classmate and teacher support during physical education (PE) lessons on moderate-to-vigorous physical activity of 14–16 year-old students whom were underweight, normal weight and overweight. The cross-sectional sample for the study concerned data from 1702 girls and 1547 boys, recruited from 12 junior high schools in Poznan, Poland. Based on their body mass index (BMI) values, the parti…
Antropologia a teoria wychowania fizycznego
The work attempts to carry out an analysis of the relations which can take place between the range of interest of anthropology and the theory of physical education. The essence and tasks of the theory of physical education has been shown being interpreted as a discipline fringing upon pedagogics and biomedical development bases and education. It was found that the problems of semantic character (e.g. the interpretation of the notion of physical e…
Badania nad wartością pomiaru wybranych właściwości motorycznych
The author evaluated the reliability of tests characterizing speed, reactivity, strength, dexterity, balance, flexibility and endurance. Coefficients of reliability proved rather high in some tests and unsatisfactory in others. No correlation was found between the age of subjects and the reliability level of the measurements
Analiza przejawów dymorfizmu płciowego w obrębie właściwości motorycznych
The aim of this paper is to analyze sexual dimorphism in following motor properties: isometric strength, standing high jump, standing triple jump, starting velocity and welocity in 100 meters dash, reaction times in response to acoustic and optic stimuli. Body height and mass were also considered, The material comprised 158 young females and 211 young males, candidates for studies at the Academy of Physical Education at Poznań. Statistical method…
