Pediatric Shock Across Acute Emergencies
Background/Objectives: Pediatric shock is a final common pathway of cardiovascular failure across diverse emergencies, yet data from mixed emergency cohorts outside intensive care units remain limited. This study aimed to describe the distribution, etiologic subtypes, and clinical correlates of shock in children presenting within a diagnosis-based emergency cohort. Methods : A retrospective single-centre study was conducted in children aged 0-16 …
Development of a Clinical Risk Assessment Score for Respiratory Distress Due to Respiratory Infections in Early Infancy
In this pilot study, the N-CRAS demonstrated a strong correlation with clinical severity and successfully identified all infants who required intubation. However, given the small cohort size and limited number of severe cases, these findings should be interpreted cautiously. Further external validation in larger and more diverse neonatal populations is essential to confirm its predictive utility
Epidemiological and Clinical Characteristics of Pediatric Acute Drug Intoxications
Pediatric ADIs predominantly involve accidental ingestions in young children and intentional overdoses in adolescents. Targeted public health strategies, such as parental education, adolescent mental health support, and improved rural healthcare access, are essential to reduce incidence and severity. These findings underscore the need for focused prevention and optimized clinical management
