Physiological and biochemical adaptation of Medicago sativa to salt stress
This study aims to compare the physiological and biochemical behaviour of four varieties of Medicago sativa differing in origin: Tamacine (Algerian), Triade (Italian), Maxigrowth (American), and Zanandrea (Australian). These varieties were subjected to saline stress (100 mM L-1) for 45 days at the early flowering stage. The results show that salinity had a depressive effect on all four varieties, reducing both fresh and dry matter. A decrease of …
Phytochemical analysis and evaluation of rodenticidal powder from Daphne gnidium under laboratory and field conditions
This paper reports the raticidal effect of the powder and the two extracts of Daphne gnidium against Wistar rats at the laboratory level and Rattus norvegicus in wheat storage warehouses. A quantitative phytochemical study was conducted alongside a histopathological study of the liver, lungs, kidneys, and intestine. The yield values obtained from the methanolic and aqueous fractions were 18% and 21.2% respectively. The content of polyphenols (mg …
Efficacy of three vegetal powders against Sitophilus granarius in stored wheat and the evaluation of their effect on grain parameters
Doses of 5,10,15, 20 and 25 g of three plant powders,Atractylisgummifera rhizome (AGRP), Daphne gnidium (DGP) and Thapsiagarganica (TGP), were added to 100 g of durum wheat to study their insecticidal effect and ability to preserve the agronomic characteristics of stored grains against the attacks of Sitophilus granaries durum wheat pest overa storage period of 6 months inTiaret district. Algeria. Our results showed that AGRP and DGPcaused 100% m…
