Thought and Being. On Some Problems of Interpretation of Fragments of Parmenides (B 6, 1–2; B 8, 34–41)
The article examines two key fragments of Parmenides’ poem from Elea, the meaning and significance of which remain a subject of debate in scholarly literature. According to this reading, the passage speaks of b…
Russian Images of Greek Thought, or Vladimir Solovyov’s Plato
This article deals with the interpretation of Plato’s thought and heritage by Vladimir Solovyov, the famous Russian philosopher of the late 19th century. The article shows the specifics of Solovyov’s approach to the “Platonic question”, its relation to Plato’s research in philology and the history of philosophy in Western Europe at that time. The author of the article considers Plato’s Solovyov’s hermeneutics through the prism of the concept of …

The author proposes a clarification of the conceptual premises underlying Plotinus' ideas about the “descent of the soul into the body”. These premises include Plotinus’ doctrine of the soul as a conjunction of unity and plurality (in connection with the doctrine of quality and the body), Plotinus’ doctrine of the identity of the subject of…
Pleasure As a Subject of Logic. To the Interpretation of Philebus. Part II
The task of the paper is to determine what is the philosophical meaning of Plato’s Philebus. To define the meaning is to show which way of understanding Philebus is the most fruitful, most fully grasping and revealing what forms the substantive core of Plato's text. It’s no secret that the meaning of Philebus is not at all self-evident. From our point of view, the main subject of the dialogue lies not in the plane of ontology, but in ethics, and …
