  • The Relational Dimension of the Problem of Evil, and the Mystical Theodicy

  • Minimal dualism and epistemic approach

    Open Access•Bogdan V Faul•ARTICLE•Omsk Scientific Bulletin Series…•2021

In this paper the author presents an argument in favor of minimal dualism — thesis, according to which conscious agents are able to exist without bodies. Author demonstrates the advantages of this argument. Firstly, he shows that this argument is invulnerable to the epistemic strategy of criticizing the conceivability argument. Secondly, the epistemic approach restricts the conceivability of creatures, the possibility of which is incompatible wit…

  • Physicalism and moral responsibility

    Open Access•Bogdan V Faul•ARTICLE•Omsk Scientific Bulletin Series…•2020

In this paper, the author introduces the derivative consequence argument, which aims to demonstrate that moral responsibility is impossible in the world where physicalism and the strong realism about the laws of nature are both true. The basic intuition of the argument is that if the laws of nature determine the events, then nobody can be responsible for those events, because nobody is responsible for the laws of nature. This intuitive idea is fo…

  • New version of derivative consequence argument and response to objections

    Open Access•Bogdan V Faul•ARTICLE•Omsk Scientific Bulletin Series…•2020

In this paper, I respond to the objections and comments, which are raised by D. Razeev, T. Demin, and M. Sekatskaya. I provide a new formulation of the argument, which avoids all the problems mentioned by these philosophers in their papers and at the conferences

  • Can God Promise Us a New Past? A Response to Lebens and Goldschmidt

    Open Access•Bogdan V Faul•ARTICLE•Open Theology•2020

Samuel Lebens and Tyron Goldschmidt provided original theodicies, which suggest that at one time God will change the past, either by erasing/substituting the sins of humans or erasing the whole entirety of evils. Both theodicies imply the idea that God can completely change the past without leaving any traces. In this paper, I argue that Lebens’ and Goldschmidt’s preferred model, which they call the scene-changing theory, is problematic. First, i…

  • Dualism in Ontology of Persons and the Thinking Animal Argument

    Bogdan V Faul•ARTICLE•Voprosy Filosofii•2020
