Modeling the relationship between internet epistemic belief, digital literacy and social media engagement of adult social media users
Social media engagement is part of our society, especially for the younger generation who are keen on technology. Nowadays, social media has become the most used platform to pick up information. Therefore, the increased number of social media users was not followed by the ability to distinguish between fake and authentic information online. There is a reason that drives someone to hold a specific belief since epistemic is a domain-dependent form …
The effect of using theodolite 3D AR in teaching measurement error on learning outcomes and satisfaction of civil engineering students with different spatial ability
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of augmented reality (AR) using a 3D app in a smartphone on students’ learning outcomes and satisfaction in teaching angle measurement error to vocational high school students with different spatial ability. A quasi-experimental pretest/posttest was employed. There were 197 students from three vocational high schools in the southern, northern, and eastern part of Taiwan participated in this …
The effect of 3D-stereogram mobile AR on engineering drawing course outcomes among first-year vocational high schoolers with different spatial abilities
Engineering drawing is valuable in capturing geometric features, conveying engineering ideas, and creating a blueprint of the intended product. Engineering students usually perform orthographic projections, imagining a 3D situation and sketching its 2D representation. That requires imagination and mental visualization, determined by the learner’s spatial ability. This study proposes the infusion of an AR stereogram mobile application into an engi…
Reflective learning as an important key to the success of an online course
This study proposed reflective learning in an online course design to maximise the effectiveness of online courses. A quasi-experimental design was employed, and 62 Taiwanese adults participated in the online course titled ‘Healthy Eating Plate’. The teaching content was delivered through multimedia animation every two days for four weeks, and a food nutritionist administered the curriculum to ensure the programme's accountability. Reflection tas…
