While themes in the core terrorism journals more likely to follow the traditional terrorism studies, funded research (e.g. Computer Science Journals) focus more on social media, far-right …

Mehmet Alper Sozer, Kamil Yilmaz et al.•ARTICLE•Terrorism and Political Violence•2019•Cited by: 1

As of today, a highly mobilized Kurdish diaspora and its most prominent representative, the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), has become so influential in the European political arena that it might tip the balance of the European Union’s policies on Turkey in its favor. Since too much attention has been given to the PKK’s activities in Germany, the organization’s actions in Britain remain understudied, despite the fact that Britain has been a vital…

  • Measuring Financial Asset Return and Volatility Spillovers, with Application to Global Equity Markets

    Open Access•Francis X Diebold, Kamil Yilmaz et al.•ARTICLE•The Economic Journal•2009•Cited by: 114

We provide a simple and intuitive measure of interdependence of asset returns and/or volatilities. In particular, we formulate and examine precise and separate measures of "return spillovers" and "volatility spillovers". Our framework facilitates study of both non-crisis and crisis episodes, including trends and bursts in spillovers; both turn out to be empirically important. In particular, in an analysis of 19 global equity markets from the earl…

This article uses the variance ratio-based multiple comparison test and the Richardson–Smith Wald test procedures to test for the martingale property of daily exchange rates of seven major currencies vis-à-vis the U.S. dollar. To allow for the possibility that exchange rates are not governed by a single process throughout the float, the test statistics are calculated and plotted for fixed-length moving subsample windows rather than being applied …

  • Privatisation and Stock Market Efficiency

Open Access•Aydin Hayri, Kamil Yilmaz et al.•ARTICLE•Scottish Journal of Political…•1997•References: 3

We present evidence that with its emphasis on wide‐share‐ownership the British privatisation program created heavy involvement of small investors in privatised stocks. Using standard market efficiency tests and maximum likelihood estimates of stationary fractional ARIMA models, we show that the pricing of privatised stocks in the London Stock Exchange was indeed inefficient, unlike the rest of the market. Together, these two pieces of evidence su…
