This article is based on ethnographic fieldwork among bicycle food delivery riders in Brussels who worked through the digital platform Deliveroo. The article engages the riders' specific temporal experiences of platform work. Platform work through digital apps creates an image of aspatial real-time. However, using the notion of the 'data double', we demonstrate that the riders not only have to navigate the cityscape of Brussels on their bikes. Th…

This article responds to this special issue's overarching interest in the relation between modes of reading and the experiences of actual readers by analyzing how the specific practice of shared reading facilitates readers' engagement in literary reading. The Day We Were Dogs
This article builds on ethnographic fieldwork in shared reading groups for mentally vulnerable young people in Denmark. Shared reading is a technique in which prose and poetry are read aloud with breaks, allowing time for discussion. It is increasingly used in Denmark for mental health improvement. This article explores temporalities of debt in a neighbourhood on the outskirts of Recife, Northeast Brazil. It shows how the temporality of lending money is incompatible with the temporality of taking the loan. Lending relates to the present and your trust in the debtor; borrowing means borrowing resources from a speculative future.
