This study e-xamined potential differences between newly hired Hispanic and non-Hispanic White employees in blue-collar Navy civilian jobs. The drinking behavior of male passersby at a water fountain in an administration building was recorded by a female observer. Subjects were given the written description of an erroneous decision made by a library director, followed by a number of accounts the leader might have given, and were asked to rate the accounts on acceptability and leadership.
