It also presents research showing the impact of Black/Indigenous Teachers of Color (BITOC) on the outcomes of BISOC in the form of ethnic-matching, and on studies validating the reason ethnic-matching has an impact on the academic achievement scores of minoritized students. Educators, administrators, and policymakers focus much attention on closing the achievement gap, and various approaches have been suggested. Research measuring teacher efficacy suggests that participants are representative of one-efficacy group. Of the few studies, which measures efficacy as a multidimensional occurrence, teachers are presented as having either low or high efficacy. These studies often use mean or median splits to determine low and high efficacy groups.
