  • Late Quaternary fluvio-aeolian interactions and possible aridification in west-central India

    Open Access•Sourav Mukhopadhyay, Pratik Pandey et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2025•Referências: 3

  • Faculty Retention Dynamics

    Open Access•Verma, Gurvinder Kaur•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2024

With economies and business becoming knowledge intensive, the role of education industry has immensely risen in significance. This has given rise to a highly competitive landscape in higher education, with faculty retention as a major challenge for the institutions leading to negative consequences in terms of education quality, stakeholder satisfaction and rankings. This paper discusses the factors influencing faculty retention in HEIs in India w…

  • Exploring Factors of HR Climate and Their Influence on Faculty Retention

    Open Access•Verma, Gurvinder Kaur•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2023•Referências: 151

Human resource climate plays an important role in associating people with their organizations. However, there is a lack of empirical evidence about how faculty perceives components of the HR system, particularly in higher educational institutions. The aim of this paper is to explore the factors of HR climate and study their association with faculty retention in different Indian universities. The data for this study was collected through structure…

  • A multivariate study of three body measurements of different states of India

    Verma, S S Verma et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropologischer Anzeiger•2005

Considerable attempts have been made to study the changes in three important body measurements (viz. body height, body weight and chest circumference) in young healthy males between different states of India using univariate statistical analysis in which body measurements are assumed to be independent of each other. Actually these body measurements are correlated with each other and thus the assumption of independence is violated in univariate st…

  • Contribution of Various Foods to Fat and Fatty Acids Intake Among Urban and Semi-Urban Women of Punjab

Open Access•Urvashi Goyal, Balwinder Sadana et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Human Ecology•2005

Three day dietary survey was carried out on 100 women each from semi-urban (Dhuri) and urban (Sangrur) areas of Punjab and their fat and fatty acid intake was calculated. Desi ghee/butter was most frequently used fat followed by vanaspati and rice bran oil. Total daily fat intake was 44 (25.8 en%) and 45.8 g (27.6 en%) while visible fat intake was 21 and 23 g in semiurban and urban areas respectively. Daily intake of linoleic (LA) and linolenic a…

  • Estimation of Human Endurance Time

    Verma, S S Verma et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropologischer Anzeiger•2004

A prediction formula has been evolved for estimation of human endurance time from aerobic and anaerobic fraction of the total oxygen utilization. The derivation of the formula is based on the assumption that fractional change in endurance time varies directly as the fractional change in aerobic fraction in the same direction and varies as the fractional change in anaerobic fraction in the opposite direction. The validity of the prediction formula…

  • Dimensional Statistics for Estimation of Lung Volumes

    Verma, S S Verma et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropologischer Anzeiger•2003

The theory of dimension has been widely used in physics to check the validity of formulae. This theory has not been used more frequently in statistics as compared to physics for development of various prediction formulae/equations in applied physiology. An attempt has, therefore, been made in the present investigation to evolve formulae for estimation of lung volumes from cubic function of height based on dimensional considerations in boys and gi…

  • Children solve problems

    Open Access•Verma, Shalini Verma et al.•ARTICLE•Childhood•1994•Referências: 6

A sample consisting of 60 subjects from socially deprived environment were matched for age, gender, problem-solving ability and prolonged social deprivation score. This sample was further divided into an Experimental and a Control group, each consist ing of 30 subjects. Pretesting of these subjects was done by administering three problem-solving tasks. A 16-week intervention programme was administered to the Experimental group to study its impact…
