This paper presents results from the first collaborative anthracological (archaeological wood charcoal analysis) study in northern Australia's southwest Gulf of Carpentaria region. The analysis focused on charcoal from a Late Holocene combustion feature and surrounding dispersed charcoal on a buried floor surface.
