  • Chinese version of the Precursors to Boredom Scales

Open Access•Jian Chen, Lihua Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•Social Behavior and Personality…•2021

We evaluated the psychometric properties of the Chinese Precursors to Boredom Scales (C-PBS) with a sample of Chinese college students. The results show that the C-PBS had acceptable internal consistency reliability and criterion validity, and that the eight-factor model fit the data well. We also investigated the characteristics of precursors to boredom in Chinese college students. Apart from one factor (being underchallenged), all precursors we…

  • Validation of the Chinese version of the Achievement Emotions Questionnaire–Elementary School

Open Access•Lihua Zhou, Ying Wu•ARTICLE•Social Behavior and Personality…•2021

We developed the Chinese version of the Achievement Emotions Questionnaire–Elementary School (AEQ-ES), and tested its internal and external validity with a sample of 426 Chinese elementary school students aged between 6 and 10 years in three academic settings (class, homework, and test) of mathematics classes. The hierarchical model of the AEQ-ES for our Chinese sample was consistent with those obtained with samples of students in similar age gro…

  • Performance and Obstacle Tracking to Natural Forest Resource Protection Project

Open Access•Ya Wang, Lihua Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2020

Forests play an important role in the process of land degradation and restoration. As a national key ecological project for protecting natural forest, the natural forest resource protection project was implemented in 17 provinces for nearly 20 years. As the core stakeholders and main force for protecting forest resources, rangers have a clear, more objective and comprehensive perception of the policy process, problems and forest ecological change…

  • Assessing the Effects of Desertification Control Projects from the Farmers’ Perspective

Desertification has inflicted severe damage on the natural environment and social economy for decades, particularly in the arid and semi-arid regions of northern China. In Yanchi County, a series of projects were implemented to combat desertification after 2000. To assess the effects of these Desertification Control Projects from the farmers' perspective, we divided Yanchi County into two regions (the northern and southern regions) according to t…

  • Prohibited Grazing Policy Satisfaction and Life Satisfaction in Rural Northwest China—A Case Study in Yanchi County, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region

Open Access•Weiwei Wang, Lihua Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2019

In order to restore degraded grasslands, the Chinese central government initiated the Prohibited Grazing Policy (PGP) in areas of severe grassland degradation and ecologically fragile regions which is an important payment for ecosystem services (PES) program. Since the initiation of this policy in the early 2000s, the PGP has significantly influenced participants' lives. Therefore, in order for the policy to be successful, it is necessary to unde…

  • Farmers’ adaptability to the policy of ecological protection in China—A case study in Yanchi County, China

Open Access•Caixia Hou, Lihua Zhou et al.•ARTICLE•The Social Science Journal•2018•Citada por: 1

Due to long-term human activities, grassland ecosystems have been severely damaged. To protect grassland ecosystems, the prohibited grazing policy (PGP), a grassland ecological protection policy, was instituted for Chinese grasslands in 2002. However, it is unknown whether farmers have effectively adapted to the PGP. The adaptability of farmers to this policy has directly influenced the effective implementation of the policy and the sustainable d…

  • Factors affecting farmers’ acceptance and perception of a potential incentive scheme in grassland areas

Open Access•Yong Chen, Chen Yong et al.•ARTICLE•The Social Science Journal•2018•Citada por: 1•Referências: 5

Incentive-based natural resource management can increase the ecological and economic efficiency of resource utilization. An incentive-based fee scheme was proposed as an effective management scheme for grasslands in northwestern China, where grazing has been banned for ten years. The scheme combines grazing fees and payment by results (GFPBR). The aims of this case study were to assess farmers’ acceptance and perception of a potential GFPBR schem…
