A Revision of the Multicultural Awareness, Knowledge, and Skills Survey-Counselor Edition
On the basis of data from 2 studies with counseling graduate students, the Multicultural Awareness, Knowledge, and Skills Survey Counselor Edition (M. D'Andrea. J. Daniels. A. R. Addressing Spiritual Issues From a Cultural Perspective
This article examines the ways that spiritual beliefs and traditions associated with the Filipino culture influenced an 11-year-old boy's efforts to cope with the death of his mother. Implications for attending to clients' spiritual beliefs are discussed
Assessing the Barriers and Changes of Cross-Cultural Supervision
This article examines conflicts and communication problems that can occur in cross-cultural supervisory relationships when cultural issues are not addressed. Recommendations for cross-cultural supervision are discussed
Testing the Validity and Reliability of the Worry Survey Among Urban African American Youth
This article reports on the results of a study designed to test the validity and the reliability of the Worry Survey, adapted from the Adolescent Health Survey (Adolescent Health Program, 1987), among 495 urban African American youths. Implications for using the Worry Survey in counseling practice are also discussed
